I got a hold of Bill via Facebook and asked him what he though. He is pretty sure that the existing supplemental material will go along with the deal, but less certain that they will do anything to make the packaging line up.

That is a little unfortunate. However, at the end of the day, we watch the content on the disc, so I can live with different cover artwork.

Oh, I agree; the supplements are what matters. Mind you, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, the only other previous Sony releases, do not fit the packaging of the rest, so it is not really the end of the world if there are other non-matching discs. I also decided to organize all of my Bond films chronologically, so I stuck Never Say Never Again in the middle of the rest with Octopussy, so no matter what I have non-standard packaging.

My Bond films are also chronological, with the exception of Never. I keep that one with my Bond films, but at the end. Even though I enjoy the film, I don't consider it part of the canon.

Well, since my discs are usually alphabetized by last name of the director (and then chronologically for each director,) series always create problems. With the Alien Anthology, I opted to place it with Ridley Scott, as he really deserves much of the credit for the look and feel of the whole series, even though he directed only the first. But I also love James Cameron, David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, so I wish that I could place their contributions with the rest of their films. In the case of the Bond series, there are many rather forgettable directors who I will never own any of their other films, so I decided to opt for just placing them together under Bond. But canon or not, NSNA goes chronologically as well as it does any other way (and frankly there are some of the canonical films that I wish were not canon, so there you go.

People always look at me strangely when I tell them I organize my movies by director. I try to explain that it is no different than organizing books by author and that, from that point of view, it makes perfect sense. I get a lot of blank looks.

I get a lot of blank looks as well, but that is for other reasons!

It's like when I ask people why, if we ship by truck, do we send cargo by ship? . . .

If there are any socialists or women around, I'm surprised you don't get the beats, let alone a blank stare!

Was Keller not a huge supporter of the socialist party?

Ah. I thought that you meant something to do with social causes per se. We have a bit of an issue with the misuse of the term "socialist" in this country.

No, I mean that I keep hearing the word being used inappropriately, so I tend to automatically question it. "Socialism" has become the new "communism" -- or more accurately, the new "red bastard." Just because someone calls something socialist does not make it necessarily so. I have become so used to questioning it that sometimes I miss its accurate usage.

Just to be clear: You calling me a bastard in the other thread had nothing to do with socialism, right?
