Gaming Keyboards

Post  TheeMrBastage on Mon Apr 11, 2016 1:43 am

I've been searching for a year for a reasonably priced wired, RBG gaming keyboard. The ones with the features I wanted were well over $100 so I waited while I used my old MS Natural Wireless Multimedia Keyboard. Which sucks for gaming LOL. When I saw this Thermaltake, that was reduced to $83 with Kailh Brown Switches, I jumped on it. Love it. Typing at lightspeed! Very Happy

Haven't gamed with it yet as it literally came yesterday afternoon. Thanks Amazon Prime, you were cheaper than Newegg.

Was at the top of the my list dude. However more than I could afford. Saw a couple of used ones for less than $100, but that's not sanitary LOL. Ew. Some people were selling the K70 privately for almost $300 it must be/have been so in demand. I've used a lot of keyboards over the years and must say, this is the best one so far. That K70 is so damned sweet though!

Noppoo Choc Mini backlight wireless model with cherry reds.

Pros:
I like it?
Quick disconnect usb cable for easy cleaning
84 key mini offers for more ergonomic placement of mouse for FPS games

Cons:
Overpriced
Inferior function key stabilizers (they wobble)
Inferior keycap quality (worn right through a lot of them, But I may be tougher on my keyboards then the average user, See the chrome plated zinc keycaps)
Backlight does not work on battery power when using wirelessly

I might be interested in seeing a keycool 84 in person. Looks promising if the keys are stabilized properly

I have an oring kit on this board

Previously i had the opportunity to review a steelseries 6gv2 I repaired. It was a good no frills mechanical keyboard but I did not care for the oversized euro style enter key. The solder pads were well spaced too.

I think Amazon offers the K70 for around $180, shipping included. Not cheap, but worth stretching for, if that's what you're really after.

That $180 for the K70 on Amazon is just for northern foreigners like Seamaster. Amazon U.S. usually has them around $130, and sometimes on sale for less, especially if you do Prime. But I can see that still being too much for some people. There are cheaper options that are still good.
