I am still surprised it has been up as long as it has. I have hit the web archives to get info on some of the older model several times already.

That add still gets me: Performance made Personal.

With just a small tweak, it's suddenly a kinky site: Made for Personal Performance.

Actually i have been using the wayback machine for the old next bench stuff for over a year now. Theres lots of stuff from you and seamaster. Sadly everything i need for my envy 133's is not salvagable from there.

I figured there would lots of stuff there for the 133, I know I can go in and configure a few machines to "buy" look at the color options, etc. I have been digging up more info on voodoo IOS/splashtop, I got the file, get it to install on a machine with same basic specs but still can't get it to work on boot. Even the configure screen comes up within the OS.

Yeah I have seen them. I think a few of them have been scams again since they sold for too much and also used fake pics. But let me try to help you some with the iOS, we are talking about the one that launched for the envy 133 right? I'm sure on this but the motherboard was made specifically for the envy 133 and I'm pretty sure that the iOS is made to boot solely off of that configuration. I think I read something awhile back in a article from early 2009 on the old forums, but also my experience plays some. Im not a 100% on it all but from when i tried to installl it on one of mine i had a problem with the partiton.Have you tried creating a new partition for it manually or from the installer?

The installer, installer installs it just like a program. Looking at regular splashtop installs that is how they sell there product with out needing a separate partition. Even the newer Ubuntu's can be installed and uninstalled like this for dual boot. I did read somewhere that a special key flick was needed. I can start the configuration program in windows and check the options for the IOS. It shows as installed programs list. Right now I have tried it on windows 7 not vista, so that may have something to do with it.

IDK for a 100% but I something is telling me in my gut that it is tied specifically for the 133's motherboard. I know that hp took this ios idea and ran with it on other notebooks. But this specific one was really a novelty back in 2008 so it was probably designed with only the envy 133 in mind. Another thing thats making me say this is that on my 133s in their bios it has a direct feature for activating the ios even if its not installed, which gives me the inclination the program was desgined to funtion in a specific way on a specific piece of hardware. Even when the ios is not installed the first thing that the happens after your turn the power on is the sign that says voodoo ios is not enabled or installed. I'm thinking its all tied together.

Also I have confirmed with the Voodoo tech guys in colorado that every feature on the envy 133 works without a problem on the newest versions of windows 7. So its not an issue of main OS.

Also another thing that is pointing to me that it could be involved with the hardware is the fact it is fully installed on yours. Mine wont install on one of mine becasue the main os was copied over and I'd have to start from square one to utilize the ios. My end thoughts still come back to the fact that the ios is tied directly to the motherboard and bios version.

Good riddance to the HP esque voodoo. I take it that at that point the voodoopc domain will redirect to hp.com, Or maybe to the part of the site with hp envy laptops.

It is nice to see that (sticking with the tribal theme even in death) they are going to kill it with fire, Sort of a nod to how voodoopc died. Thanks for the update Rozzie, part of me still hates to see it die, They had such radical wicked machines.

I noticed that too. I thought it was really funny on his facebook that he commented it was a good thing that Disney is buying Lucas films...... It could be a repeat of voodoo and hp lol

I was a little shocked he would even comment on it. Now this is my opinion from my own view but if what happened to Voodoo was one of my own companies I would not comment, since I have to much pride in my companies to see them with someone else that has the potential to destory them. Which I'm afraid Disney will do to Star wars and the other cparts of Lucas films. Just saying
