Looks like I will be adding a HEXX to the collection soon. I will send you another message soon Blur when I quit airport hopping or can find a good Internet place in the Houston airport. Only 4 more flights and a drive through the desert before I get to work.

No problem up the Hexx tonight and later in the I will start packing. Pay when you can or before I ship.

BTW, how often do you fly out there. I'm sure the pay is great, when I got out I was offered a job out there 120k + OT. But of course I had to listen to the wife(soon to be ex). That's what happens when your pussy whooped I suppose.

Payment sent. At the villa in Bahrain. Not sure if I will be here or in a hotel in Saudi so if I am out of internet range for a few days I will be back shortly.

I work a 28day / 28 day rotating schedule. The pay is a 30% bump from what I would be making in the US putting up with the same basic crap.

I am using those in my Omen without issue for almost 3 years... "knock on wood"

The entire laptop has devalued, Most modern midrange laptops outperform them and don't double as space heaters.

I put in a small bid but not really bidding on it. Getting ready to upgrade the graphics in the Hexx, maybe the ram too from 2gb to 4gb. I am also working on a server I just got for my oldest boy. He begged for one for a while. I ran across a good deal so I pick this up.

50.00 shipped to my door I got an server with 2 dual core 2.2's and 8gb of ram. 100-250V power supply too. No need for 220 only. Already got two sleds for it. Just need to figure out what hard drives it needs. It came in yesterday as I was putting my bags in the truck so I could head to the airport. I didn't get to look it over as much as I wanted too. Downloaded the manual. Now just got to read it while at work, pick up a couple of cheap used hard drive and bam should have it fixed up.

All my kids are big Minecraft players. So this he can put his custom stuff on and turn it on the weekends for the kids and for his friends at school. He has a bunch of custom plug in's he made and wants to test them out. He would like to have his own server that anyone can play but we don't really have the bandwidth for that. He is going to go to collage for video games. He can already program in java (he is self taught) and starts out with a clean sheet in C++ when he starts the code. This will give him something real life to learn on no just programing but how to set up a real server. He went into bios thinking he could put usb boot to an external hard drive until we get some internal hard drives but he couldn't find the option in bios. I told him to check out PLOP linux boot manager. Sure he will have something figured out in a few days.

It looks like a nice box for what you paid. I haven't messed with sun that much though. It is standard x86 architecture these days I take it? I had a 1u server a while back, Unless you have a rack to put it in the form factor quickly becomes a pita.

I have a rather nice tyan based duel xeon server laying around myself that I do most of my experimenting on when I want real hardware. It sounds like a wind tunnel though. What makes it even funnier is that it boots osx and its so anti mac esque Its in one of those old all aluminum chieftech dragon cases that were all the rage around 2004.
