Looking for an Omen

Wed May 22, 2013 11:28 pm by febtiger

Hello! I'm new and am looking for one of those sexy Voodoo Omen cases. Preferably the shiny tall one as pictured below:

I have a Voodoo Envy 133 (the one they made with HP) in black carbon fiber. It's the fully upgraded one with the SSD and 1.8 dual core from a while back, if anyone is interested.

I can think of few others who were as foundational to me as I was growing up. Seriously, I cannot even think of a teacher who impacted me like Harryhausen's films did. To say nothing of the fact that he was one of the absolutely nicest men in the business. I have an outstanding documentary about him on laserdisc, …

The Undying Zombie Thread

Since Seamaster and I always end up sidetracking with discussions about upcoming films in whatever thread we are using, I thought that I would make a miscellaneous dump thread for anything like that. And I have a big one to dump for starters: I know that Seamaster is not a big Kaiju fan, but as a native of the UK he may appreciate Great Britian's one major contribution to the genre: the 1961 …

The New Other Bench Audiophile Thread, astonishing arrogance edition

Thu Jan 31, 2013 8:17 pm by Iago

I just got through reading this post from Stereophile, and I am still marvelling at it. I mean, we are all arrogant in our own ways, especially as A/V nuts, but this one could almost be a parody, if not for the fact that the writer is really quite serious. In addition to the fact that his threadbare description of the listening test makes it pretty clear that it made no attempt at any form of …

Guillermo del Toro + kaiju + mecha + Idris Elba + the voice of GLADOS = I am so, so there!

One thing that impresses me in the trailer: at least in those brief clips, the monsters and the mecha have a real sense of scale. One of my biggest beefs with CGI is that way that creatures seem to lack a feeling of mass, weight and size, partly because the animators …[/flash(425,350)]
